THE “LA CASTELLANA” ASSOCIATION AND “PLASTIC FREE” JOIN FORCES TO CLEAN THE STREETS OF WASTE
It might seem coincidental, but it’s not. The “La Castellana” Association is becoming a focal point for like-minded community groups with a passion for helping others. The latest collaboration is with Plastic Free Odv Onlus (an Association against Plastic), led in Orvieto by Emilia Pollasto. Plastic Free has been waging war on plastic for quite some time now. It’s not difficult to find the majority of young members of this non-profit organization actively engaged in collecting plastic waste left behind by those who “talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.”
Kudos to these volunteers, and a big thank you to the Association for their collaboration in the cleanup plan, which involved cleaning a section of the road that intersects with the Castellana’s route. The Association handled the logistics, while the young volunteers, as seen in the photos, did the rest. For the sake of fairness, it’s worth noting, as is often the case with such activities, that they found a bit of everything on the cleaned stretch of road, including collectible cans.
