FROM JANUARY 21, “ANTICAMENTE” THE ANTIQUE AND COLLECTIBLES SHOW-MARKET, RETURNS EVERY THIRD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH
On Sunday, January 21, the new year of “Anticamente Orvieto” kicks off in the city of the cliff. This antique and collectibles show-market has been taking place regularly for two years now, every third Sunday of the month in Piazza della Repubblica, right in the historic center.
The location, dates, and monthly frequency for 2024 are confirmed, given the positive responses that have seen the event grow to over 70 exhibitors during favorable weather and tourist periods. Exhibitors come not only from Umbria but also from neighboring regions, thanks to Orvieto’s strategic location, attracting participants and visitors from Lazio and Tuscany.
The itinerant formula, where “Anticamente” replicates the model in the squares of Todi on the second Sunday of the month and in Perugia on the last Saturday and Sunday of each month, is also confirmed. “It’s a solution that the exhibitors favor, allowing them to rotate and organize based on their strategy and availability. It has also yielded positive results in terms of increased visitors,” comments Mauro Giorgi, the organizer and president of the association InDivenire.
Among the considerations, still in the evaluation phase, is the possibility of adding a fourth square to optimally cover the entire Umbria region throughout the month. “One novelty under consideration is to extend the market’s duration beyond sunset, into the night. This solution might be well-received by tourists, especially in the summer when the city hosts events every week,” adds Giorgi.
